David and I met Liz in 1965. Although we had been married in the same church and our mothers had been at school together and lived close to each other, we met when we had both married Unilever Trainees and we each rented 2 rooms on the opposite side of the road. We were paupers but we rented an old tv for 4/6d a week so the Melroses kept us company often. We used to send Colin to Woolworths to buy 2oz of cold sliced meats. It was beneficial to get the ‘tip of the scales’ on several lots !! We had such fun. We’ve kept in touch ever since. Dear Liz you have left joy in my heart.
